Your Lady Reds are back, and after a weekend in the sun we had plenty of takeaways from the trip!
We had the pleasure of being able to stay in a house over the weekend rather than a hotel like we normally would for traveling and we were surprised once we were inside. There were rooms with more than enough beds and it was well decorated too! The house is typically rented out to dancers so much of the decor was dance themed (which no one complained about in the slightest).
We played our first official three games of the season and they were definitely hard games. Opening your season against a Division I team like the California State University, Northridge would give any team a challenge! But it was an eye opening and huge learning experience for us. We also played against the DIII third ranked California Lutheran University and fourth ranked Claremont Mudd Scripps. All of which were amazing experiences for us to have! We would definitely also love to be out there for much longer too.
It was also funny how in the CMS game, I played against a girl I played against in high school! It was a fun reunion and we switched caps at the end of the game which is by far one of my favorite souvenirs from the trip! The other being the fun photos I got to take from the trip too (they will have their own album in the near future).
In the meantime, we will be prepping for our home weekend with some scrimmages at Fenwick high school in Oak Park! After that weekend we will also have Mack, Lauren, and Heather from the swim team and Jane after taking some time off from polo. We're very glad to have the four of them back with us very soon!

Loved this season opener recap! Challenging games, great learning moments, and fun team memories made the trip special. The reunion story was a great touch. Trips like this feel as refreshing and inspiring as a stay at The Breakers Palm Beach, excited for what’s next!
