Meet the Writer: Elyssa Hawkins

Welcome! My name is Elyssa Hawkins, and I am a senior at Carthage College studying in Exercise & Sport Science, and Communication. I look to complete my Communication Thesis through this project.
As an aspiring journalist, I have decided to approach my communication thesis with a different take: by applying real life journalism to a real life sports team.​ As a longtime fan and reporter of Carthage Red Men Soccer, the team was simply a perfect fit for my work. Not only was it perfect in these aspects, but also in providing a chance to pursue sports journalistic angles beyond my traditional interests such as water polo, and swimming.
I am excited to share my work with the Red Men Soccer friends, family, fans, and of course the team.

Meet the Photographer: Morgan Fingerson
Welcome! My name is Morgan Fingerson, and I'm the one who provides the photography you have seen throughout the site! I am a sophomore at Carthage College who is studying in Elementary and Special Education.
​
I am also a member of the women's water polo team at Carthage alongside Hawkins, and will be working for the Current Student Newsmagazine as a photographer as well.
​
Although I am an Education student at Carthage, photography is one of my favorite passions, and I am excited to showcase my skills throughout this project. As a fan of Carthage Soccer, I invite you to take a look through the site's photo gallery and explore Carthage Soccer in a new way.
