Red Men to face Loras Sunday

Before returning to Art Keller Field, the #18 Carthage College Men's Soccer team (3-1-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) will travel to Dubuque, IA for a match against Loras College (4-2). A live stream and live statistics update will be made available by Loras for the match on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Red Men tied with Lake Forest College 1-1 after two overtime periods.
- Goalkeeper Niko Mavrogiannis made a season high six saves against the Foresters. Mavrogiannis saved eight shots throughout the match.
- Forward Johnny Rimkus scored for the Red Men in the 54th minute, taking the sole eighth spot on the Red Men Career Goals List.
SCOUTING THE DUHAWKS
- The Duhawks are 4-2 on the season.
- Midfieleder Javi Simon leads the Duhawks with four goals and nine points.
- Loras comes into the match, after being blanked by the University of Chicago 3-0. Goalkeeper Jacob Peterson was named Player of the Match following a penalty kick stop in the 84th minute.
- Carthage trails the series with the Duhawks all-time by 1-4. The two teams met previously in 2016, which the Red Men won with Kevin Mahoney's 88th minute goal.

- Justiniano's 63 saves is three shy of taking the 6th spot on the Carthage Career Saves List.
- Mavrogiannis's 49 saves is eight shy of taking the 8th spot on the Career Saves List.
- Senior Jamie Tausend took sole possession of the 6th spot on the Career Assists List (14), and is two shy of climbing to 5th.
- Tausend is also 12 starts shy of taking the top spot for Most Career Starts, which is currently held by Max Zbilut, '06 (74).
- Senior Johnny Rimkus's 19 goals is seven shy of tying for the 6th spot on the Career Goals List.

- Head coach Steve Domin is in his 22nd season as Carthage men’s soccer head coach. Domin holds a overall 239-164-36 record in his tenure as head coach.
- Carthage moved to the 18th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III Men's Soccer Varsity Poll.
- The Red Men were voted third in the United Soccer Coaches first Central Region Poll of the 2017 season.
- Tausend was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the matches against Kalamazoo College, Hope College, and the University of Chicago.
- The 2017 team captains are seniors Tausend and Rimkus, and juniors Mahoney and Adrian Herrera.
- In addition to Rimkus and Tausend, the 2017 season features a senior class of Erik Boese, Joey Klawitter, and Sahr Mahoney.
