Red Men Close Atlanta Weekend with Win

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

- Two Red Men scored their first 2017 goals during the match.

- Goalkeeper Mavrogiannis earned his first shut out win in 2017.


The Carthage College Red Men (5-3-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) closed the Atlanta weekend with a 2-0 win over Berry College (3-3).


The Red Men kicked off the offensive with an unassisted goal by Ivan Esquivel in the 24th minute of the match. Esquivel lead the Red Men in offensive statistics including two more shots on goal throughout the match.


The Red Men would notch another goal in the second half from Jerry Patino off an assist by Kevin Penarrieta. The goal is Patino's first goal as a Carthage Red Men.


Niko Mavrogiannis earned the win at the goalkeeper with six saves. The win also marked Mavrogiannis's first shut out win on the season.


The Red Men will have one more match on the road at St. Norbert College on Wednesday, Sept. 27th. The Red Men will face off against the Green Knights 7 PM.
