Red Men to meet Green Knights Wednesday

After a weekend spent in Atlanta, the Carthage College Red Men (5-3-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) are on the road for a non-conference bout against the St. Norbert College Green Knights (5-3-1).
LAST TIME OUT
- The Red Men traveled to Atlanta for two road matches against Emory University and Berry College. The Red Men finished 1-1 on the weekend.
- Freshmen Center Back AJ Abara lead the Red Men in Shots on Goal against Emory.
- Sophomore Goalkeeper Brayan Arce Justiniano collected five saves against Emory.
- Sophomore Ivan Esquivel and Junior Jerry Patino scored the two goals for the Red Men in their win over Berry.
- Junior Goalkeeper Niko Mavrogiannis recorded six saves against Berry.
SCOUTING THE GREEN KNIGHTS
- St. Norbert College will be entering the contest against Carthage with an identical record of 5-3-1. The Green Knights previously visited Art Keller Field as one of three teams invited to the annual Battle on the Border.
- St. Norbert celebrated a 5-0 win against Monmouth College with Sean Boldt leading the scoring with two goals.
- Goalkeeper Josh Koleske recorded two saves in the match.
MILESTONE WATCH
- Senior Left back Jamie Tausend is seven starts shy of reaching the top spot on the Most Starts by a Red Men.
- Tausend is also one assist shy of taking the sole fifth spot on the Career Assists List.
- Justiniano is six saves short of reaching the top five on the Red Men Career Saves List.
- Mavrogiannis is two saves shy of taking the sole eighth spot on the Red Men Career Saves List.
THINGS TO KNOW
- Head coach Steve Domin is in his 22nd season as Carthage men’s soccer head coach. Domin holds a overall 240-164-37 record in his tenure as head coach.
- The Red Men were voted Sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Central Region Poll.
- The 2017 team captains are seniors Tausend and Johnny Rimkus, and juniors Mahoney and Adrian Herrera.
- In addition to Rimkus and Tausend, the 2017 season features a senior class of Erik Boese, Joey Klawitter, and Sahr Mahoney.
