The Carthage College Red Men (5-4-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) traveled to St. Norbert College, and were faced with another overtime match in 2017. However, a decisive header by Logan Block sealed the deal for the Green Knights.
The Red Men statistically lead in Shots and Corner Kicks throughout the match 15-6 and 8-4 respectively. Midfielder Jeff Montemayor lead the offensive with four shots, followed by Jerry Patino's three. Jamie Tausend, Johnny Rimkus, Kevin Mahoney, and Ivan Esquivel each recorded one a piece.
Goalkeeper Niko Mavrogiannis started for the Red Men for what would be his second match in overtime on the season.
The Red Men return to Art Keller Field on Saturday to open CCIW play against North Central College. The match will be part of Carthage Homecoming following the Women's Soccer match, and Football game.
