SETTING THE SCENE
- The Carthage College Red Men have earned a berth to the CCIW Championship Tournament for the third year in a row and the 14th appearance in the new format.
- Carthage will enter the Tournament as the No. 3 seed in a field including No. 1 North Park University, No. 2 Illinois Wesleyan University, and No. 4 North Central College
- Carthage will look to defend their back to back (2015 and 2016) tournament titles.
- In their 14 appearances, the Red Men are 6-9-3 all-time in the CCIW Tournament with three titles and three trips to the NCAA Tournament.
THE MATCHUP
- Carthage will return to Bloomington for the second time in 2017 to face off against No. 2 seed Illinois Wesleyan University.
- The Red Men defeated the Titans 2-1 in regular season action with goals from Johnny Rimkus and Kevin Mahoney.
- Adrian Herrera notched assists on both goals and was named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the match.
- Brayan Arce Justiniano notched five saves in the match, and one goal against.
TEAM EFFORT
- Junior Jerry Patino leads the Red Men with five goals. Patino and Adrian Herrera lead the team with four goals scored during conference action.
- Herrera, Jamie Tausend, and Ivan Esquivel lead all Red Men with two assists in conference action.
- Martinez leads the Red Men in points with 18, while Herrera leads the team in points during conference action with 10.
- Brayan Arce Justiniano and Niko Mavrogiannis combined for 58 saves on the season, 26 of those saves during conference action.
CCIW STATISTICAL PROWESS
- Upon the conclusion of the regular season, the Red Men lead the entire CCIW in Shots with 332.
- The Red Men also lead the CCIW in Assists (39) and are third in Assists Per Game (1.95).
- Carthage is second in the conference in the win streak category with five.
- Carthage ranks second in the conference in Corners (116), Goals Scored (43), and Points (125).

- The Red Men closed their regular season with a five game winning streak.
- The Red Men were ranked fourth in the latest Central Region Varsity Poll. CCIW Rival North Park University ranks above the Red Men in second.
