The Carthage College Red Men (13-7-2, 5-2-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) had their CCIW Tournament Title streak snapped by a 4-0 loss to No. 9 North Park University.
The Red Men were doomed early on after a red card was awarded to goalkeeper Niko Mavrogiannis in the eighth minute of the match. Brayan Arce Justiniano was immediately brought on as the new goalkeeper, and while deflecting the penalty shot, the Vikings got the early lead off the rebound.
Despite the man down, Carthage would still have scoring opportunities against the Vikings. However no shots were able to connect, as the Vikings strengthened their lead in the second half.
Despite the 4 goals against, Arce Justiniano was also credited with four saves in the match.
The Red Men conclude their season with a 13-7-2 record overall, and will graduate five seniors in Sahr Mahoney, Daniel Axtman, Joey Klawitter, and captains Johnny Rimkus and Jamie Tausend.
